Turkey levied safeguard measure concerning imports of polyester fibre. According to the Presidential Decree no. 4412 published in the Official Gazette on 24 August 2021, imports of polyester fibre (customs code: 5503.20.00.00.00) shall be subject to following annual duties starting from the 30th day following the publication of the Decree in question: 0.060 USD/Kg for the first year, 0.058 USD/Kg for the second year, 0.056 USD/Kg for the third year. Such duties are collected in addition to regular customs duties.
Under the Decree, tariff quota at 16593 tons opened for imports from certain developing countries.
