According to the Decision of the President of Turkey, published in the Official Gazette on 2 October 2018, imports of flat and long steel products, pipes, certain stainless steel articles and railway articles shall be subject to tariff quotas determined separately for each category. Moreover, imports, exceeding quotas established by the Decision shall also be subject to 25% additional fiscal liability (i.e. additional duty). The decision entered into force on 16 October 2018 and shall remain in effect for 200 days.
