Turkey applied safeguard measure concerning imports of polyethylene terephthalate chips (PET chips). According to the Presidential Decree no. 3192 published in the Official Gazette on 13 November 2020, imports of PET Chips (customs HS code: 3907.69.00.00.00) shall be subject to following annual additional duties starting from the 30th day as of the publication date of this measure: 0,060 USD/Kg for the first year, 0,058 USD/Kg for the second year, 0,056 USD/Kg for the third year. Such duties are collected in addition to regular customs duties.
On the other hand, a tariff rate quota of 10926 tons on PET Chips imports was opened for some develeping countries under the Decree in question.
